Manga Series Review: Phantom Thief Jeanne

I'm going to start doing manga reviews on this blog. I tend to read mangas and so I thought would be fun. Also I don't see much manga reviews on the web. I'm going try to get right into it .

"High school student Maron Kusakabe has a secret: she’s Phantom Thief Jeanne. She sneaks into private art collections to steal paintings in which demons reside. Jeanne’s task is to seal the demons before they can devour human hearts. So far she’s been able to evade the police on her midnight outings, but now another thief has come onto the scene—Phantom Sinbad—and he’s trying to take the paintings before she does!"

*** 3 stars for this series

Overall I did really like this series. It's a very cute shojo manga. A magical girl manga. Which I find harder to find in the American translated world of manga. So it's very similar in a way to Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon with a more "western" religious plot. The overall plot of Phantom Thief Jeanne manages to be to both cute while having some sad realistic moments. Most of the problems I had with what happened in this series was in the beginning and end.
I didn't really like the first volume as much as the rest of the series. I felt that it took too long to get pass the beginning of series stuff. In retrospect, I was in a huge reading slump at the time I first picked up this series. That may have been a factor of me not liking it as much. I do plan to reread this in the Japanese edition. If I can find it, I will try to read it and write a review solely on the Japanese edition.
The problems I have with volume 5 (the final volume), I will do a serapate post on. Especially cause it will have spoilers. Honestly it's not  Arina Tanemura's best manga. If you either really like Arina Tanemura or magical girl manga, read it.
I will be posting a new book/manga every Tuesday on this blog for the next month.
This is not my picture but these are the Japanese edition of Phantom Thief Jeanne

Hey guys,so today I'm going to be doing a monthly wrap up. I will be uploading the video soon but decided to also put it up via blog. I know haven't been posting on here lately but I hope to change that.

The books I read this month:
1) Eloise's Guide to Life

I read this cause I had it.Its cute and has few words. Great,if you're in a reading slump like me.

2)Revenge:The Secret origin of Emily Thorne

This graphic novel was amazing. It totally blew me away.If you like the show Revenge, this is a must read.

3) Phantom Thief Jeanne Volume 1

It's a real cute good shojo manga. The first volume took me like a month. The first volume is a little slow but towards the end got so much better.

4)Phanton Thief Jeanne Volume 2

Way better than volume 1. Finished it in few days. Series just keeps getting cuter and better. I do plan to try finishing the series within the next week(It is only 5 volumes long)

I hope you guys like this wrap up . Will be back to do a book review in a few days.

Book Review: Love Letters To The Dead By Ava Dellaira

I just finished reading this book tonight. I really wanted to talk about it. So this will be a review/me fangirling over this. I drawn to this not because of the YA book community. Shocking I know. I was look at books at the library and found it among the other books. The synopsis hooked when I saw Kurt Cobain. If you watch my main YouTube channel, you know I'm obsessed with him. Honestly I didn't know about hype around this til after I googled the playlist.
This book is told in letter format. The main character writes to dead celebrities/writers to overcome a huge life crisis. Her older sister May,died. It doesn't explain how she dies til pretty late book. Overall it's a coming of age story of a freshman girl name Laurel.
This book contains a lot of references. I adore references. So it is basically,my cup of tea. My favorite letters were to Kurt Cobain. I loved the Nirvana references. Tho most of the songs were from " In Utero". I've learn to give that album more love because of this book.
Some thing I found cool was the people she wrote to. A lot of time a characters was connected to celebrity/writer. I notice that towards the end of the book. It made this book a little cooler.
I did enjoy this book so much. I will be putting a video on it. Also a lot of  people compare this,"Perks of being a Wallflower". The format is very similar. I'll try to comparison of these books during this month. So please watch out for that. So til next time, bye.

Book Review: Gossip Girl books 1 to 3

Two book reviews in a row. Yay. I've had really good reading month so there should be more coming. Anyway I've been into the Gossip Girls books. This a review on first 3 books.
It's a very quick easy short read. Books 1 to 3 all range from 200 -225 pages. It shouldn't take more then 1 day if you're into it. I read the 1st and 3rd under 24 hrs. The 2nd one took me a few days. I honestly didn't like the 2nd as much. It is a series you should read on order. I plan to read as of the series as I can.

Book Review: Annabel by Lauren Oliver

I just finish this novella and I had to do a review. First off, yes I gave this 5 stars. I finished the delirium series a year ago. The only other delirium novella, I've read was "Hanna". I wasn't every impress.
Recently I was in the library and saw the bind-up verison of the novellas. I thought why not. So I borrowed it. Tonight I was in mood for a light read so I read it.OMG. It was amazing. Honestly it reminded me why I love the series in the first place. Lena is very similar to her mom. It's also cool to see carol before she was aunt carol. All in all this series makes want to hug the people I love. To keep the people close me close. The mood was very much like the first book.

Book review: nineteen minutes by Jodi Picoult

This book is about a high school shotting. A boy Peter has been bully all his life and does this. It's also more then that but very hard to explain. I personally loved this book. It was my  first Jodi picoult book but I know that she'll be one favorite authors. This book really makes you think. It made me kind of rethink a lot of things.
I loved Peter so much. He's lovable character. Tho he was kind of a villain (in a way). Josie liked more in flashback . This story says a lot of the price of popularity  in high school.

***** 5 stars
I'm going to put up a blog with all my anonations by tommrow.
